To Do (10 left)

  • 1. Information gathering. Libraries are non-essential.
  • 2. Content-sharing. YouTube and Flickr are just two examples.
  • 3. Catch-up TV. It's no longer the end of the world if I'm busy at 7:30 on Sunday night because I can watch The Voice online.
  • 4. Games. CD-roms are no longer needed to play computer games. Many are free, and others are offered on a subscription basis.
  • 5. The blogosphere. Leather-bound journals have moved to the digital space, and news and lifestyle blogging has become popular.
  • 6. The press without the paper. Many newspapers have migrated online or simply expanded to include online content.
  • 7. Cloud storage. Allows for the sharing and saving of content in internet space.
  • 8. Shopping. Online stores make price-comparing much easier, and there are stores such as eBay which solely operate online.
  • 9. Social networking. Apart from Facebook, sites such as Instagram are prominent, and are most often accessed through the app rather than directly through a browser.
  • 10. The nature of adversiting. Advertising was previously either a still image (e.g. in a newspaper) or a moving image/video (such as on TV). Now, internet advertisements are notorous for pop-ups and interactivity.
